The expression of Grenache

The expression of Grenache From young, biodynamically farmed plots on the calcareous schist soils of Mas Amiel, Vertigo expresses with freshness all the energy of Grenache Noir and Carignan. Hand-harvested and vinified with indigenous yeasts using gentle extraction, it reveals a full and vibrant palate, with notes of red fruit and fresh rose.

GRAPE VARIETIES

VERTIGO is the result of a subtle blend of indigenous grape varieties farmed biodynamically. Grenache Noir and Carignan draw all their fruit-driven energy from the diversity of the calcareous-schist terroirs. This wine also demonstrated how powerfully this terroir can express itself, even through young vines full of promise.

Tasting notes

Alive with energy, this wine immediately seduces with its brightness and exuberant aromas of small red berries and fresh rose, the signature of Grenache.

The palate is ample and fresh, continuing in the same juicy, fruit-driven register, with a beautiful mineral spark typical of schist soils - the favored terroirs of great Grenache.

Respect for the fruit and the terroir

Winemaking and bottling

Harvesting is carried out entirely by hand. The grapes are then fully destemmed. Each parcel is vinified separately with native yeasts and no added sulfites, terroir by terroir, allowing each site to express its own character and fresh, vibrant juice. Ultra-gentle vinification in 84 hl concrete tanks with very light daily pump-overs to assist the fermenting grapes.

FOOD AND WINE PAIRINGS

Savory pairings: its freshness and bright fruit character perfectly complement beef tataki, grilled scorpionfish, or roasted vegetables with Mediterranean herbs.
Sweet pairings: its red fruit notes and subtle mineral lift pair elegantly with a red fruit tart, roasted figs, or a light dark chocolate dessert.

VERTIGO White

Of all the MAS AMIEL wines, VERTIGO is the youngest: bright, stylish and accessible — a wine of fruit, a thirst-quenching wine made for pleasure. In its white version, it offers a subtle balance between the crisp, juicy character of white fruit and the tension and naturally mouth-watering freshness of a terroir already clearly expressed in these young vines.
